#COVID19: 612 cases, 12 deaths in Imo.
It seems Almighty COVID-19 is back as Imo State has recorded 12 deaths from the COVID-19 pandemic since the index case was confirmed in the country.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic 616 confirmed cases were recorded, while 580 infected persons recovered from the pandemic.
Dr. Sebastian Okwu, The State Coordinator of the World Health Organisation (WHO) disclosed this during a media sensitization meeting on COVID-19 Risk Communication and Community Education in Owerri, he also urged journalists to increase the rate of educating and enlightening the people of the state about the global plague.
Dr. Okwu while addressing the media team said “the WHO was worried about the second phase of the pandemic in some countries, including the United Kingdom (UK), urging Nigerians to change their attitude and perception about the existence of the scourge, the virus, is real, I am using this opportunity to plead with all Nigerians to improve their compliance with health and safety measures”
