FG TRAINS 55 PEOPLE TO MONITOR SOCIAL INVESTMENT PROGRAMMES IN IMO STATE.

The Honorable Minister on Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hon. Sadiya Umar Farouq today the 22nd of February 2021 hosted a training in Imo State for Independent Monitors for the integrated National Social Investment Programme.

The Honorable Minister was represented by Hon. Charles Anaelo, the Deputy Director Humanitarian Affairs.

The meeting which had the likes of:

6. Special Adviser on Pension GRT Captain Pat Okibedi
7. Special Adviser on Strategy and Development Ngozi Pat

The Welcome Address by the Special Adviser to the Imo State Governor on SDGs and Humanitarian Services on the occasion of the on boarding and training on independent monitors for Integrated National Social Investment Programs today Monday 22nd 2021 read.

“Protocol,
Honourable Commissioners,
Special Advisers,
Good Morning to you all,

It is a moment of great privilege and honour for me to extend the hearty welcome to all of you today at this memorable event of the on boarding and training of independent monitors for the integrated national social investment programs holding here today at IBC Orient Tv Academy Hall in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.

This program today is being organized in all of the 36 States of the federation on different dates and times by the federal ministry of
Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development as part of it’s mandate to ensure the effective monitoring and supervision of the integrated national social investment programs.

In furtherance to this, the program today will onboard and train independent monitors that will monitor the programs at the community level.

The Independent Monitors will be assigned to monitor programme beneficiaries within their locality in schools, households, and market clusters with the focus of ensuring that the primary objectives of these programmes…are achieved.

In view of the above, I wish to thank President Muhammadu Buhari for initiating these programs as well as the Honourable Minister and her team, who are here today, for piloting and working tirelessly for the success and sustenance of the programs, as they are designed th alleviate the suffering of the poor and the vulnerable. It is important to note that the Imo State Government has keyed into these programs and presently we have 11,500 receiving CCT, and an additional 18,238 of beneficiaries have been enrolled. Presently Imo State Health Insurance Agency is generating data of the poor and vulnerable for health insurance scheme.
