What kind of Sons are we raising? By Duru Eunice Adaku
As parents, we all want the best for our children. We strive to raise them to be responsible, respectful, and successful members of society. But what kind of sons are we raising today?
In today’s society, we see a rise in boys who lack respect for others, especially women. They see nothing wrong with devouring girls and chasing after their mother’s mates. They are involved in cybercrime, drug abuse, and other criminal activities.
As a society, we can no longer say that it is wrong because we see these boys driving expensive cars and living luxurious lifestyles. We have become desensitized to their behavior and turn a blind eye to their actions.
What are we doing to our generation? What kind of men will they grow up to be if we do not correct their behavior now? We cannot continue to let this behavior go unchecked and expect that our society will produce sane and responsible men in the future.
As parents, it is our responsibility to teach our sons to respect themselves and others. We must instill in them a sense of responsibility and accountability for their actions. We cannot let them believe that it is okay to pursue criminal activities and live off ill-gotten gains.
We need to take action now to correct this behavior. We cannot let our daughters marry men who lack respect for themselves and others. We need to start teaching our sons the importance of education, hard work, and respect for others.
Let us not fail our children and future generations. It is time to take responsibility and raise responsible and respectable men.
