#AFCON Qualifiers: Super Eagles to play Guinea Bissau in Morocco

Super Eagles

The Super Eagles of Nigeria will play their away fixture of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea Bissau in Morocco.

Nigeria has a firm grip on Group A of the AFCON qualifiers. They defeated Sierra Leone in Nigeria before thrashing Sao Tome and Principe on their own turf.

The Super Eagles will play Guinea Bissau twice later in March, and winning both games could ensure they claim the ticket to Ivory Coast next year.

Nigeria will first welcome Guinea Bissau to the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja, or the Godswill Akpabio Stadium Uyo on the 20th of March before going away for the reverse fixture in a week.

According to a recent report by Morocco World News, instead of Guinea Bissau, the second leg will be played in Morocco.

This is because CAF did not approve any stadium in Guinea Bissau for the qualifiers, meaning they will have to make do with a neutral venue and Morocco has volunteered their stadiums.

Guinea Bissau will have to choose out of Casablanca’s Mohammed V Complex, Rabat’s Moulay Abdellah Complex, Grand Stade de Marrakech, Agadir’s Stade Adrar, Grand Stade de Tanger, and Grand Stade de Fez.

The Super Eagles have already played in Morocco once during the qualifiers. And it was against Sao Tome and Principe at Stade Adrar. Nigeria won the game 10-0.
