Political Dynamics Unveiled: The Decline of Nyesom Wike’s Ambitions in Rivers State

In a recent turn of events, Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, former spokesperson for the defunct nPDP, contends that the dream of Nyesom Wike becoming the political powerhouse, or “Jagaban,” of Rivers State has come to an end. Eze suggests that Wike’s relevance in both Rivers State and Nigerian politics has waned, emphasizing that potential collaborators with him do so at their own risk.

Eze expressed surprise at President Bola Tinubu’s involvement in what he perceives as undemocratic actions during the Rivers State Peace Accord between Governor Fubara and Nyesom Wike. Questioning President Tinubu’s democratic values, Eze examined the Peace Accord, inferring a strategic plot to undermine Wike’s political aspirations.

Commending President Tinubu for diminishing Wike’s political standing, Eze acknowledged the potential pitfalls of collaborating with Wike. He argued that the so-called peace in Rivers State is nothing more than a facade, suggesting that President Tinubu’s involvement aims to gain influence over the state, a move that Eze predicts will face resistance from the citizens.

Eze concluded by asserting that Wike’s political relevance is a thing of the past, cautioning against associating with a figure whose actions are widely known. In his view, President Tinubu’s interference marks the end of Wike’s ambition to become the political leader and “Jagaban” of Rivers State, firmly stating that Rivers State can never be equated to Lagos in terms of political dynamics.
