Immediate past Chairperson of International Federation of Women Lawyers Association, FIDA, Imo State, Mrs. Ndidi Anike Val-Okeoma Esq has joined the Imo state governorship election billed for November, 2023 on the platform of the Labour Party.
Speaking to newsmen in Owerri, yesterday, Val-Okeoma, said her decision was informed by her vision of “A Repositioned Imo” and her passion to offer purposeful leadership for the citizens.
According to her, “notable women across the world have proven that women can be trusted with leadership positions to offer the desired difference in governance for the general good of the people.”
She urged Imo electorate to give her a chance to pilot the affairs of the state come November, while promising to offer people oriented policies and inclusive government if elected.
She said, “going by what we have seen women achieve across the world, there is no doubt that women have all it takes to give different leadership direction for the people for good.
“I am one of the women who believe that women are capable of leading states and the nation and I have no iota of doubt that we will deliver if given the opportunity.”
She continued, “concerning my aspiration, people who know me can attest to my leadership capability and passion for humanity. They can attest that I am one woman who will never fail the people if given the opportunity.
“I am determined as ever to make the desired difference in governance as my goal is to create a prosperous and inclusive Society where every citizen has access to basic needs and opportunities for optimum growth and development. I seek to restore the dignity of our dear State and Imolites simply through the Rule of Law”.
“So I am appealing to Imo electorate, my fellow Labour Party faithfuls as well as Imo women to give me their maximum support to enable me clinch the party ticket and subsequently win the election. I believe that together we can achieve it and make the difference.” she added.
