#Religion: That you speak in tongues doesn’t mean you have the holy spirit – Alvan Chinaka
Imo based multi-talented entrepreneur Alvan Chinaka, took to his Facebook account to clear some of the misconceptions Christians always have.
In his own words, Alvan stated clearly that speaking in tongues doesn’t mean you have the holy spirit, it’s much more than that.
“Speaking in tongues is not a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
That you speak in tongues doesn’t mean you have the holy spirit, unless you have the fruits.
Speaking in tongues is only a gift. You use it to edify yourself.
The fruits of the holy spirit are love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Now, just as trees bear fruits for all to see, so the Holy Spirit bear the fruits in us and people see them.
So when you speak in tongues and lack the fruits of the holy spirit, you are only rapping or “showing off” – tongue speaking is backed by the fruits.
Today, learn to love, have joy, peace, be patient, show kindness, show generosity, exhibit faithfulness, show gentleness and have self-control”
Now, you know, learn to love and others.
